I have heard a bunch of times that senior sessions are mainly for girls, and I want to clarify that now, more than ever, guys have just as much fun during their photo shoot as girls. And I'm not talking about a suspicion —this is based on what they have shared with their parents and to me, in person during our reveal presentation meeting at my studio!. I have been offering Tucson senior photography for almost two decades now. Every single time I hear their feedback, see their smiles and hear them say "wow!" That, right there, makes me feel super happy and accomplished; happy clients make my day and give me the continuous confidence to reiterate my initial statement: Guys' senior sessions are fun and they love them!
Even though having your photos taken for the yearbook might seem like enough, when it comes to saying goodbye to your dear friends from high school—your wonderful experiences during senior year, plus all the memories, connections, and friendships you made—we should aim for more than just a yearbook picture.
Yearbook pictures are a bit limiting because usually you don't have much say in them. You can't choose your backgrounds or different poses, and you don't have much time to be creative or show who you really are. There's only one outfit that can be worn and the pose is pretty standard so it stays uniform with the rest of the portraits from other students. While having your own senior photo session allows you to have a variety of outfits that reflect your style, your interests, and your personality—and also lets you go a little bit beyond the everyday outfits you wear for school.
A lot of my high school senior guys love to incorporate a formal outfit among their looks, and I think that's a great idea. At the end of the day, you have reached a milestone, and your outfits say a lot about the meaning, and the message: make a strong statement! You came, you saw, you conquered!
Gerardo wanted to incorporate an outdoor, desert vibe into his senior portrait session, so we decided to go to Agua Caliente Park in Tucson, which offers a variety of backgrounds, including lakes, plenty of trees, and of course our very own signature sunsets.
It was a beautiful day for Gerardo's senior photography session, and we love that he took the opportunity to make this achievement very special and very personal by choosing to get a professional photo shoot—one that will allow his family to remember these glorious days of high school and let him cherish the memories created during these amazing years of his life.
